• Jane has fought for all the membership of this branch for many years not just small, well paid sections.
• She is the only female trade union leader in this borough and very often the only woman in many negotiating meetings and our members are 70% female
• Jane is a leading critic of the so-called "Heads of Agreement" deal being supported by the national leaders.
• Jane believes that our pension fund is "non-negotiable"
• Jane has campaigned against all the cuts (including Labour cuts) for over 20 years, in defence of our pensions, and led many disputes with the local authority (both while Labour led and Lib-Dem led).
• Jane argued with the Council when they recently tried to set up a library trust and killed the move dead in its tracks.
• Jane was also a leading campaigner in the Birmingham 6 campaign and the Guildford 4 and is mentioned in Hugh Callaghan's book on the Birmingham 6 and has been a long standing supporter of the struggle for Irish liberation.
• Jane is a true internationalist and a socialist.
• She is the voice of experience in this election and is supported by the majority of Branch Officers.
